Patreon Diaries, Journey Tips, and Art Processes from 2016 - 2018
Life as a traveling artist
Since 2016, I have been sharing my life as a traveling artist on Patreon, a platform for creators to share content exclusive to monthly contributing patrons. In addition to art I create, I have written diaries about my travels, art process entries about how I create, and journey tips about how I run my business.
While Patreon has proven to be an excellent platform for me to share my life, travels, and creations with the world and to get funding for what I do, some people are not fans of monthly subscriptions. This has meant that for the past two years, as I've grown and shared what I've learned on my journey, many have been missing out on valuable info that can help their own art and businesses (or stuff that might just be entertaining!).
With that in mind, I gathered what I felt were the best entries from the time I started my art journey on Patreon to the very end of 2018 and have made them available to non-subscribers via Gumroad. These entries were selected for having lots of detail, photographs, and personal stories, or for their value in showing how to create both digital and traditional art, how to I run my business.
What's Included
The entries in this bundle include diaries covering my time in New Zealand, Australia, France, Germany and the United States, as well as 5 different conventions across four different countries. My diaries, by their nature, include tons of photos, and often share how I've set up my workstation as I've traveled from place to place. It hasn't been easy living and working out of a suitcase, but I definitely got to see and do a lot!
In my journey tips entries I explain, in specific detail, how I set up spreadsheets to track my sales and inventory, where I've purchased inventory or supplies for my convention appearances, how I've written case studies about art I've created for clients in order to promote my work, and many other business-oriented topics.
Finally, whether it's converting a sketch into digital art, learning from references, or getting the most out of Copic markers, I've compiled several step-by-step art tutorials, as well as some other casual anecdotes about how I create the things I do, in my art process entries.
When you download
